In spring and autumn, however, you should always keep an eye on the snow conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong>&nbsp;Facebook can sometimes provide a useful indication of the current conditions. The descent along the same route took around 2 hours at a very fast pace. becomes very steep and transitions into the T3 terrain of the Robert-H\u00f6fert-Steig. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is followed by a long, very steep but only slightly exposed is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have negotiated the more demanding T5 terrain, you reach the summit of the Hochwildstelle relatively quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now it is time to sign the summit register (which was present as of early September 2026), have a snack and, in good visibility, enjoy more phenomenal views. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, it was very foggy during my time at the summit, which can happen relatively quickly at this altitude. Nevertheless, the clouds occasionally parted, revealing a breathtaking panorama.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CAUTION! <\/strong>Particularly when descending along the ridge, you need to be very careful not to miss any trail markers or stray off route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At one or two points on the way back, I even had to check the route carefully several times and retrace my steps for a few metres to find the trail markers part of the route follows north-facing slopes and remains in the shade for a long time, especially if you start early. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my case, I did not reach the sunlight until shortly before the Neualmscharte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Particularly along the final section over the ridge to the summit, you are more exposed to the sun.
